Dance Classes – Inters

Inters dance classes are for children aged: 8 years +


General Dance Class

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In our general dance classes students are taught different routines to a range of music.

Students learn a range of styles in these classes including hip hop, freestyle, disco and street dance.

 


Cheer

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Cheerleading dance lessons combine modern dance styles with acrobatics and gymnastics.

In our cheerleading classes, the children are given the opportunity to show their strong and powerful dance moves to up-beat music.

The children often dance with pom poms and are taught different cheers and chants relating to Carlisle Dance Academy.

 


Ballet

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In our ballet classes the students are given the opportunity to learn dance in a much more structured manner.

The students are taught a range of feet and arm positions whilst focussing on the stance and technique required for ballet. They learn exercises at the barre and through centre work before progressing to routines to familiar music.

 


Drills

During drills classes, children are taught how to improve their strength and flexibility alongside conditioning techniques. They progress to learning how to spin, kick and leap.

This class helps to improve each dancer’s overall technique.

 


Musical Theatre

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In Musical Theatre classes, pupils will learn choreography to their favourite movie, musical, Broadway and West End hits.

This is an energetic jazz style class which is full of laughter, singing and dancing. It allows all dancers to unleash their inner diva!

 


ACRO

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Acrobatics dance classes, use strength and flexibility to perform gymnastic-based tricks within a dance-based routine.

In this class, students perform conditioning exercises to prepare them for increased difficulty. It teaches flexibility, balance, strength, coordination, and partner working.

 


Jazz


 

 

 

 

 

 

This high-energy class has a liveliness that sets it apart from traditional dance forms. It allows our students to develop their stage presence alongside their technique.

They focus on a range of steps and techniques required across a range of dance styles. Fosse style routines are often adapted within these classes.

 


Tap

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Tap dance classes utilizes rhythm, syncopation, and sound in addition to movement. An emphasis is placed on musicality, expression, and improvisation.

Tap dancing consists of learning and memorizing patterns is a great workout for your brain.
