Meet The Team

The Carlisle Dance Academy dance instructors:

Becca

Laura

My name is Laura Irwin and I am proud to be the proprietor of Carlisle Dance Academy. I am also an experienced Primary School Teacher and I am very honoured to be the Mum of three lovely boys.

Having danced since a young age my dream was always to own my own dancing school and now I am lucky enough to have achieved this dream.

Throughout my dancing career I have performed and choreographed a huge variety of shows and events. Growing up in a world of dance I loved to perform, there is no other feeling like it! Having hung up my dancing shoes (kind of!) my excitement now comes from teaching and watching how our pupils at CDA shine like the stars!

Becca

Becca

My name is Becca Edwards, I am a primary school teacher and dance teacher. I am a fun, friendly and bubbly character, I am always up for enjoying myself, and hate to miss out on anything. I am kind, caring and would do anything for anyone.  I love working with children because no day is the same and it is extremely rewarding and puts a smile on my face.

I have been dancing since I was 3 years old – ballet, tap and modern. I have made some of my closest friends at dancing, who I know will be in my life forever. My favourite part of dancing is the show, both taking part and watching others enjoy themselves on the stage, there is no other feeling like it, and unless you have been part of that no one will understand. Dancing is a fantastic hobby to have in your life, which can lead to many exciting opportunities if you stick with it. I know this from experience.
